Foreign-Trade Zone 65
The Foreign-Trade Zones Act of 1934 established the Foreign Trade Zones Board, which is responsible for processing applications from entities wishing to establish, operate, and maintain Foreign Trade Zones. In January of 1981, the Board granted Foreign Trade Zone No. 65 designation to the Panama City Port Authority, allowing it to operate as a Foreign Trade Zone. This designation allows Port Panama City to use approved customs procedures to encourage US activity and valueadded versus the competition with foreign alternatives
