Panama City Port Authority Executive Director to Depart for New Role

Panama City, Fla.— January 2, 2026 Following nearly 15 years of dedicated service to Port Panama City and the Northwest Florida community, the Panama City Port Authority announces that Executive Director Alex King is stepping down in March 2026, to take a new position with the Alabama Port Authority.

During his tenure, the Panama City Port Authority (Port Panama City) expanded cargo activity, advanced strategic initiatives, and strengthened its financial position, laying the foundation for long-term growth. King played a key role in guiding the Port while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence, economic impact, and community partnerships.

“We are deeply grateful to Alex for nearly 15 years of dedicated service, leadership, and commitment that strengthened Panama City Port Authority and the Northwest Florida community,” said Panama City Port Authority Board Chair Frank Hall. “While we will miss his leadership, the Port remains strong, stable, and well positioned for continued success. The Board will work closely with Port staff to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of operations.”
