Panama City Port Authority Names Bob Majka as Executive Director

Panama City, Fla.

— February 19, 2026 The Panama City Port Authority Board of Directors selected Robert “Bob” Majka as the next Executive Director of Port Panama City.

Majka brings more than three decades of public-sector leadership experience to the role, most recently serving as Bay County’s County Manager. In that position, he provided executive oversight of county operations including public safety, utilities, infrastructure, community development, budgeting, and administrative services. His leadership across complex organizations and essential services provides a strong foundation for guiding the Panama City Port Authority’s operational and strategic priorities.

“Robert Majka is a proven executive leader with the experience, judgment, and vision to guide Port Panama City into a new era of strategic growth,” said Frank Hall, Chairman of the Panama City Port Authority Board of Directors. “His 11 years of service as Bay County Manager, leading a large public organization and overseeing significant public resources, demonstrate the fiscal discipline, infrastructure experience, and steady leadership this role demands. With deep roots in our community and strong relationships at the local, state, and federal levels, Bob is uniquely positioned to advance major capital projects, strengthen economic development partnerships, and expand the Port’s impact as a driving force for Northwest Florida’s future.”

Majka’s career in public service began in 1988 as a firefighter and progressed through a series of leadership roles in Bay County, including Hazardous Materials Program Manager, Emergency Management Division Manager, Chief of Emergency Services, and Assistant County Manager. In 2012, he was selected to serve as the City Manager for the City of Cocoa Beach before returning to Bay County in 2015 to assume the role of County Manager.

Over the course of his career, Majka has led large teams, managed multimillion-dollar budgets, and overseen critical infrastructure and public safety operations. His experience in emergency management and disaster preparedness provides valuable perspective on continuity of operations and infrastructure resilience, both essential to port operations in Northwest Florida.

In addition to his three decades of public-sector leadership, Majka holds a Master of Business Administration from Troy University and is a graduate of the U.S. Fire Administration’s Executive Fire Officer Program.The selection followed a competitive, nationwide search led by the Panama City Port Authority Board of Directors, with support from Alliance Resource Consulting.
